The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is the premier provider of vocational education and training (VET).

With a heritage of over 90 years CIT continues to change lives through quality training and skills development for individuals, industry and the community. In 2020 22,000 students were training at CIT. So far in 2021 we have 12,000 students training at CIT as we continue our commitment to VET in the ACT and surrounding region.

CIT’s high-quality and innovative training not only provides the skills needed for our current and future workforce, but it also supports our local and national economy, and contributes to Canberra’s ranking as the nation’s highest performing jurisdiction on measures of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Our ongoing commitment to building strategic industry partnerships is leading to meaningful employment outcomes for students with job-ready skills across vital employment areas such as renewables, nursing, trades, cyber security and aged care. We have worked to advance Canberra’s workforce by adapting our courses and means of delivery to provide skills for the future.
