Strengthening Collaboration for a Greener Future: Deepening China-Australia Cooperation

Boao, Hainan, China – March 28, 2024 – The China-Australia Entrepreneurs Dialogue, an important segment of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 2024 Annual Conference, took place on March 28th in Boao, Hainan, China. The focus of discussions centered on the need for low-carbon transformation. With China aiming for its “3060” goal and Australia committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, there’s significant potential for joint efforts in green development. Mr. Zhong Baoshen, Chairman of LONGi, leading solar technology company, attended the event as a distinguished guest.

During his remarks, Mr. Zhong Baoshen highlighted LONGi’s presence in Australia and expressed optimism about the country’s growing PV market. Since entering the Australian market in 2017, LONGi has established a local team to cater to various sectors, including residential, industrial, commercial, and large-scale solar farms. This approach not only meets local needs but also supports Australia’s transition to cleaner energy by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Zhong emphasized the importance of practical cooperation between China and Australia in building a secure, resilient, and sustainable clean energy supply chain. He discussed LONGi’s efforts in establishing production facilities in Vietnam and Malaysia to strengthen the global supply chain and ensure efficient shipment capabilities. Additionally, investments in logistics and warehousing infrastructure are helping speed up Australia’s energy transition.

In conclusion, Mr. Zhong, representing Chinese entrepreneurs, called for unity and collaboration amid global uncertainties, stressing the need for an open and inclusive approach to common development. He envisioned platforms like the China-Australia Entrepreneurs Dialogue as opportunities for bilateral exchanges, fostering a fair and transparent business environment. Addressing global issues like climate change and carbon neutrality, Mr. Zhong advocated for international cooperation and increased investment to facilitate smoother business collaborations. He proposed joint efforts to accelerate the adoption and commercialization of clean energy technologies, leading to sustainable energy development and low-carbon economic transformation.
