Smart Energy Council encourages participation in ADB-led Pacific Infrastructure Business Opportunities Seminar.
Sydney, Australia
The Smart Energy Council (SEC), together with the Renewable Energy Council Asia Pacific (RECAP), is encouraging Australian businesses to participate in the Pacific Infrastructure Business Opportunities Seminar (PIBOS) 2026, taking place from 25–27 May 2026 in Nadi, Fiji.
Hosted by the Government of Fiji, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Bank, in partnership with Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the United States, the European Union and other Pacific partners, PIBOS is a flagship event connecting the business community with major infrastructure opportunities across the region.
The seminar will present a consolidated pipeline of projects spanning energy, transport, water, ICT, health, and education infrastructure, offering early visibility into upcoming investments across Pacific island countries.
With a strong focus on enabling private sector participation, the event will bring together contractors, consultants, suppliers, investors, and government stakeholders to explore partnerships and procurement opportunities.

Smart Energy Council Chief Executive John Grimes said the event represents a significant opportunity for Australian companies to engage directly in the Pacific’s energy transition.
“This is where the next wave of energy and infrastructure projects in the Pacific will be laid out from grid-scale batteries to solar, EV charging and beyond. It’s a real opportunity for Australian companies to get in early, build partnerships, and help fast-track the transition across the region.”
John has also recorded a short video outlining the opportunity and encouraging participation in the program.

In addition to the main seminar, participants can attend pre-event masterclasses on 25 May, covering procurement processes and environmental and social requirements from ADB and the World Bank.
The event will also include:
- Project pipeline presentations from Pacific governments
- Sector-specific networking sessions
- Opportunities to engage directly with public sector buyers and development partners
- Private sector development discussions on finance, regulation, and investment
Eligible SMEs may also apply for travel support funding, with applications closing 22 April 2026.
The Smart Energy Council is supporting awareness of this opportunity as part of its ongoing work to connect Australian businesses with international markets and accelerate the clean energy transition.
