Short Description
The Smart Energy Council’s October 2026 submission to the Senate Select Committee on Australia’s Productivity. It makes 47 recommendations on commercial building electrification, transport, sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, waste-to-energy, product stewardship for solar panels, batteries and EVs, environmental approvals reform, and productivity in agriculture, forestry, fishing and mining. Its overarching recommendation is to place electrification, renewable energy deployment, transport decarbonisation, circular economy initiatives, approvals reform and critical minerals development at the centre of Australia’s long-term productivity strategy.
