Smart Energy Council Executive Member Raystech has taken a group of customers from Australia and New Zealand behind the scenes of solar manufacturing during a three-day industry tour in China.
Co-hosted with LONGi, the tour was designed to give participants a closer understanding of the technology, manufacturing processes and people behind the solar modules supplied across the Australian and New Zealand markets.
A key part of the journey was a visit to LONGi’s Lighthouse Factory. Participants walked through the manufacturing environment, observed advanced production and quality-control processes, and heard about the latest developments in solar technology.
The experience also moved beyond observation. During a hands-on module-building activity, participants had the opportunity to assemble parts of a solar module themselves, providing a practical insight into how solar technology moves from individual components to a finished product.
The group later visited Raystech’s Wuxi office, where customers met the local team and took part in discussions about technology, manufacturing and developments across the solar industry. These conversations allowed participants to exchange ideas directly with the teams working across the supply chain.
Alongside the technical program, the three-day visit included a gala dinner and a tour of an ancient town, giving the group time to connect informally and experience the region’s history, culture and cuisine.
For Raystech, the tour was about more than visiting a factory. It provided an opportunity to bring customers, distributors and manufacturers together, deepen industry relationships and strengthen connections between the Australian and New Zealand solar sectors and global renewable energy manufacturing.
