JA Solar Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

JA Solar, a global leader in the PV industry, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, marking two decades of innovation, growth, and a lasting contribution to the global clean energy transition.

Founded in 2005 with a mission to develop solar power to benefit the planet, JA Solar has grown into a trusted partner in over 178 countries and regions. With 16 overseas subsidiaries and a proven track record in solar module manufacturing and technology leadership, the company is a key player in the renewable energy landscape.

As of Q1 2025, JA Solar’s cumulative module shipments surpassed 280 GW, powering utility, C&I, and residential PV systems in diverse geographies and challenging environments. This milestone was achieved via the company’s robust annual module production capacity, which is over 100 GW. With vertically integrated wafer and cell production capacities exceeding 80% and 70%, respectively, JA Solar leads the way in large-scale production and supply.

Central to JA Solar’s journey is its relentless commitment to innovation. From PERC technology to the latest advancements in n-type Bycium+ cells, which have achieved a remarkable mass production efficiency of 27%, JA Solar consistently raises the bar in high-efficiency product development. Its flagship DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules, designed for high power density, reliability, and adaptability, meet the diverse needs of global markets and applications. Additionally, JA Solar’s integrated PV solutions are tailored to maximize energy yield and deliver long-term value for its customers worldwide.

JA Solar integrates sustainability principles throughout its operations, driving green manufacturing processes, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering sustainable, resilient supply chains. These initiatives reflect the company’s holistic approach to innovation—enhancing not only product performance but also environmental efficiency across the value chain. With 1,899 patents, including 1,031 invention patents, and active involvement in industry standards development, JA Solar is aligning technological advancements with its long-term sustainability objectives.

Beyond business achievements, JA Solar is committed to shouldering social responsibility by contributing to education, disaster relief, and solar infrastructure development in underdeveloped regions. These efforts, often in collaboration with nonprofit organizations and local communities, further reflect the company’s dedication to improving lives and promoting sustainable development globally.

“Our 20th anniversary belongs to every employee, partner, and customer who has been part of our journey,” said Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar. “As we look ahead, we reaffirm our commitment to driving innovation, advancing green development, and delivering long-term value to our global partners.”

With its legacy of sustainable innovation and a clear vision for the future, JA Solar is poised to help shape the next phase of the global energy transformation—building a greener, more inclusive, and low-carbon world.
