The Smart Energy Council (SEC) is pleased to announce that GoodWe, a global leader in solar inverter and energy storage technology, has joined the organisation as an Executive Member, further strengthening collaboration and leadership across Australia’s renewable energy sector.
A long-standing partner of the Smart Energy Council since 2017, GoodWe has supported and contributed to SEC initiatives for almost a decade, working closely with the organisation across major industry initiatives, events, education programs, and international engagement. This Executive Membership formalises and deepens that long-standing relationship at a strategic level.
A key milestone in this enduring collaboration came in 2022, when John Grimes, Chief Executive of the Smart Energy Council, launched the industry-first SEC Roadshow Vehicle. Designed as a mobile sales, networking, and training platform, the roadshow has since become an essential information resource for both industry professionals and consumers. The initiative also marked the launch of the EcoSmart Kids educational program, aimed at inspiring and educating the next generation about renewable energy and sustainability.
GoodWe has also played an important role in supporting SEC’s global engagement. This included a delegation visit to GoodWe’s headquarters in China during the company’s 15-year anniversary celebrations, an experience that highlighted both the scale of GoodWe’s global operations and the pace of smart energy innovation.
The SEC delegation – including Nigel Morris, Yuan Fang, and Alistair McGrath-Kerr – joined hundreds of GoodWe partners and staff from around the world for the two-day event.
The first day centred on a major conference led by GoodWe Founder Daniel Huang, alongside technology specialists who demonstrated how the company has evolved far beyond its origins as an inverter manufacturer. Today, GoodWe delivers large-scale battery systems, heat pumps, EV charging products, virtual power plant (VPP) solutions, and an extensive portfolio of solar technologies, including building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) – fully embedded into its multi-storey headquarters as a public showcase of innovation.

GoodWe representatives have also regularly contributed as guest speakers at SEC customer and industry events, sharing insights on technology development, market trends, and the future of solar and energy storage solutions.
Looking ahead, GoodWe will significantly expand its involvement with SEC initiatives in 2026. In addition to its Executive Membership, GoodWe has also signed on as the Smart Installer Patron, reinforcing their commitment to installer education, quality, and best practice across the solar and storage industry. GoodWe will be one of the sponsors of the Smart Installer Roadshows in March 2026, travelling across Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Newcastle, will exhibit at Smart Energy 2026 in May, and will be a sponsor of the Smart Energy Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner. GoodWe will also be exhibiting at Smart Energy South Australia and Smart Energy Queensland, while continuing to support the sector through industry webinars and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
