Fox ESS introduces Power Cube residential energy storage system

Fox ESS has introduced Power Cube, an all-in-one residential energy storage system combining an inverter and batteries in a compact, stackable design.

Announced in Melbourne on 20 October 2026, the system is designed to simplify installation and allow households to expand their storage capacity as their energy needs change.

The launch follows a SunWiz announcement which, according to Fox ESS, ranked the company first in Australia for installed energy storage capacity in the first half of 2026.

Power Cube integrates key components into one system, with the aim of reducing installation time and associated costs. Its modular EQ5500 batteries offer storage capacities from 10.92 kWh to 49.14 kWh across two to nine modules.

“Power Cube has been designed with the Australian market in mind,” said Brooks Richard, Managing Director of APAC & Middle East at Fox ESS.

Richard said the system’s capacity options were designed to suit a range of Australian household energy needs, while its integrated design aimed to simplify installation.

System features

According to Fox ESS, Power Cube includes:

  • Power options: CEC-approved single-phase models from 5–12 kW, with three-phase models from 5–15 kW planned for release. Both ranges support up to 200% PV oversizing.
  • Installation options: A compact, integrated design with an IP66 rating for indoor and outdoor installation.
  • Backup capability: An integrated gateway with 63A on-grid full-home backup support.
  • Battery protection: Inter-cell insulation and an aerosol unit in each battery module, providing protection at cell and pack level.
  • Integrated heating: Designed to help maintain battery performance in colder conditions.
  • Monitoring and connectivity: Fox Cloud 2.0 with AI functionality, real-time monitoring and remote configuration, alongside Wi-Fi, LAN and Bluetooth connectivity.

Power Cube comes with a 10-year product warranty. Its modular design allows households to select an initial storage capacity and expand it as their requirements change.

Ends.
