The Smart Energy Council advises that Adjunct Associate Professor Scott Hamilton has resigned from its Board of Directors. Scott has advised that he wishes to focus on his role as Deputy CEO of the Renewable Energy Council Asia-Pacific (RECAP).
Scott has had a long association with the Smart Energy Council, working as a senior adviser and consultant since 2020, as well as serving as a director. During that time, Scott has made an important contribution to the Smart Energy Council’s work, particularly in renewable hydrogen, renewable ammonia and green metals. This included leading the development and implementation of the Smart Energy Council’s Zero Carbon Certification Scheme, an important initiative to support the growth of renewable hydrogen and related industries.
Scott has also played a significant role in expanding the Smart Energy Council’s international engagement, particularly strengthening renewable energy relationships between Australia and India and contributing to our work supporting the transition to renewable energy across the Pacific.
More recently, Scott has been closely involved in international trade delegations undertaken by RECAP on behalf of the Smart Energy Council, including successful delegations to China and Vietnam. RECAP will also lead upcoming delegations to India and Bangladesh.
We thank Scott for his many years of service, the expertise and experience he has brought to our organisation, and his commitment to advancing renewable energy in Australia and across our region. We wish Scott every success in his future work with RECAP.
ENDS.
