GoodWe expands partnership with Alex Carey through bat sponsorship

GoodWe has expanded its partnership with Australian cricketer and brand ambassador Alex Carey, with the company’s logo set to feature on his Kookaburra cricket bat.

The new branding is expected to make its international debut during Australia’s three-match One Day International series against Zimbabwe, beginning in Harare on 15 September 2026.

GoodWe says the branding is also planned to feature on Carey’s bat throughout the forthcoming international season, including the 150th Anniversary Test between Australia and England at the MCG in March 2027, subject to selection.

The bat sponsorship is the latest development in GoodWe’s partnership with Carey, who joined the company as its Australian brand ambassador in 2025.

Since then, Carey has supported GoodWe’s efforts to raise awareness of cleaner, smarter energy and sustainability among Australian households.

Commenting on the expanded partnership, Carey said:

“I’m really pleased to have GoodWe step up as the naming partner on my Kookaburra bat. They’ve backed me strongly off the field, so it means a lot to carry their logo out in the middle every innings this summer. It’s a partnership built on shared values, and I’m excited for fans to see it come to life.”

Behind the scenes at Kookaburra

Ahead of the new sponsorship taking to the field, representatives from GoodWe visited Kookaburra’s Melbourne bat-making facility to follow the creation of one of Carey’s bats.

Under the guidance of Kookaburra bat maker Lachlan Dinger, the team observed how raw English willow was shaped and finished according to Carey’s requirements.

Carey uses Kookaburra’s 2026–27 Kahuna, one of the Australian manufacturer’s established cricket bat ranges. Kookaburra’s professional bats are individually shaped, pressed, balanced and finished for each player.

The visit gave the GoodWe team an opportunity to learn more about the bat-making process and see the company’s branding applied to Carey’s finished bat.

GoodWe thanked Kookaburra and Dinger for providing access to the facility and demonstrating the production process.

Partnership expands onto the field

GoodWe Australia Country Manager Dean Williamson said becoming Carey’s bat sponsor was an important next step in the partnership.

“Bat sponsorship has a special place in cricket. The brands a player carries onto the field become part of their identity and their journey throughout a season,” Williamson said.

“For GoodWe to have our name on Alex’s bat is something we’re incredibly proud of. It represents how far this partnership has come and the strength of the relationship we’ve built together. Alex has been a fantastic ambassador for GoodWe and genuinely believes in what we’re trying to achieve. Taking that partnership onto the field feels like a natural next step.

“We’re particularly excited knowing this bat could be there for some enormous moments over the coming months, right through to the historic 150th Anniversary Test at the MCG.”

The sponsorship forms part of GoodWe’s broader involvement in Australian sport and community activities. Carey initially joined the company as an ambassador based on a shared interest in environmental awareness and practical action on cleaner energy.

Carey has played domestic and international cricket for more than a decade and has previously spoken about how his experiences travelling and playing in different weather conditions have influenced his interest in environmental issues.

Through the partnership, Carey will continue supporting GoodWe’s communications encouraging Australian households to consider cleaner energy technologies.

The GoodWe-branded Kookaburra Kahuna is expected to make its first appearance during Australia’s ODI series against Zimbabwe.
