Federal Budget 2026–27
When the Treasurer delivered the Federal Budget 2026-27, one of the Smart Energy Council team members was inside Parliament House following the announcements as they happened.
While most organisations were still reading media summaries, our team was already analysing the measures affecting the smart energy sector.
Within hours, members received an exclusive briefing explaining what the Budget meant for battery incentives, consumer energy resources, environmental approvals, recycling initiatives, building regulations and future investment opportunities.
By the next morning, our members understood the implications for their businesses.
AEMO’s 2026 Integrated System Plan
Every two years, AEMO publishes Australia’s most important electricity planning document.
The 2026 Integrated System Plan spans more than 300 pages of modelling, analysis and forecasting.
Instead of expecting members to work through that complexity themselves, we prepared a comprehensive member briefing highlighting the key findings, including the continued role of rooftop solar, batteries, Virtual Power Plants, transmission investment and emerging commercial opportunities. The briefing distilled AEMO’s findings into practical insights relevant to installers, retailers, manufacturers and investors.

Solar Sharer Offer
When the Federal Government announced the Solar Sharer Offer, members needed more than an explanation of the legislation.
They needed practical guidance.
The Smart Energy Council produced an easy-to-use fact sheet explaining how the scheme worked, who was eligible, the operating time windows, customer opportunities and how technologies such as batteries, EV chargers and smart hot water systems could help households maximise the new tariff.
The result was a practical resource that sales teams, installers and customer service staff could use immediately.
NSW Home Energy Saver Program
When the NSW Government announced the Home Energy Saver Program, we didn’t simply forward the media release.
We secured exclusive access to the people responsible for delivering it.
Within days, members were invited to a live briefing hosted by Smart Energy Council with senior representatives from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and the Energy Security Corporation.
Members had the opportunity to hear directly from the program designers, understand how it would operate and ask questions about what it meant for their businesses.
