GreenSketch, the AI-powered platform of OSW Group, made its European market debut in Germany on 22 June 2026.

Held on the eve of Intersolar, Europe’s leading exhibition and conference for the solar industry, more than 180 guests from the solar industry, real estate, media and influencers joined the GreenSketch launch event at Villa Flora, Munich.

The evening featured the first-ever German Rooftop Valuation Report, live demonstrations of GreenSketch’s AI agent, Emily, and a panel discussion on the value of German rooftops.

Speaking at the event on why Germany was chosen as the next step in GreenSketch’s global expansion, Anson Zhang, CEO of GreenSketch, said: “There is enormous potential here. In the first quarter of 2026, residential installations fell 21 percent, but new battery storage hit a record high and grew by 67 percent.”

“The execution gap is real, and this is where GreenSketch belongs,” noted Zhang.

A 45-billion-euro opportunity

As part of the launch, GreenSketch officially launched the Rooftop Valuation Report for Germany, the first-of-its-kind study to individually analyse over 28 million residential buildings across 401 districts and independent cities using AI.

Key findings from the first-ever German Rooftop Valuation Report published by GreenSketch.

The study found that Germany’s residential rooftops are collectively worth an estimated €45.43 billion per year in potential electricity cost savings. Despite this multi-billion-euro potential, only 4.1 million German homes currently have a solar installation.

The report also noted that the average German household could save approximately €1,620 in electricity costs annually with an average investment of €12,167 if fitted with an optimised solar and battery configuration (10.34 kWp PV + 9.6 kWh battery excluding subsidies). Over 20 years, average returns per household could reach €19,030.

The report was created in collaboration with partners GoodWe and LONGi Solar, and the methodology was independently reviewed by anonymous expert reviewers. Partners Anker Solix, Antai, Astronergy, Fox ESS and Hoymiles also supported GreenSketch’s Germany launch.

Published at a time when the German solar market faces significant pressure—with upcoming legislation potentially eliminating fixed feed-in tariffs for new systems under 25 kW—the report makes it clear: solar combined with storage and greater self-consumption is increasingly important for homeowners in making solar an economically viable investment.

“Our rooftops are more than just a housing asset. They are a distributed, decentralized energy infrastructure—a national resource that deserves to be properly valued and mobilised. It is no longer a simple matter of receiving predictable fixed feed-in tariffs, but storage, self-consumption, and better financial advice for homeowners,” said Christian Seidemann, Lead CSM DACH, GreenSketch, at the launch event.

“This report and GreenSketch represent the first step towards that,” continued Seidemann. “We hope that it begins a national conversation for homeowners, policymakers, and academics on what Germany’s rooftops are actually worth. And for installers, it allows us to quantify the total value of all roofs across the country: a signal of the broader residential solar market.”

Simplifying the solar journey the world over

GreenSketch is the first free end-to-end platform for the solar industry, combining roof analysis, system design, lead generation, and proposal creation in one system. The platform is operated by Australia’s leading solar distributor, OSW Group. Emily, the platform’s AI agent, generates a detailed solar and battery analysis from any address in 60 seconds.

The entire process from lead to final proposal takes only a few minutes, benefiting installers and energy consultants. For homeowners unsure of where and when to begin on their solar journey, the platform provides them with a simple report on their home’s solar potential, including different system design solutions based on their and energy consumption and financial considerations, and the option to connect directly with an installer.

The launch in Germany comes shortly after GreenSketch’s official launch in Australia on 23 March 2026, including the Australian Rooftop Valuation Report. GreenSketch is set to launch next in the UK in September 2026.
