Victoria, Australia – April 2026
The Smart Energy Council is launching a first-of-its-kind community initiative across Victoria to help households, businesses, and local communities take control of rising energy costs.
The Victoria Lower Power Bills Expo will bring practical, real-world solutions directly to communities – connecting people with trusted local experts and clear advice on how to reduce electricity bills through solar, battery storage, and home electrification.
Delivered in partnership with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action Victoria and supported by local councils, the expos will take place across three key regions:
City of Melton — 16 July 2026
City of Whittlesea — 16 April 2026
Greater Dandenong — 4 June 2026
Bringing Solutions Directly to Communities
This initiative marks a new approach taking energy education and solutions out of industry circles and directly into local communities.
“This is about meeting people where they are, in their communities and giving them the tools, knowledge and confidence to take control of their energy bills,” said David McElrea, Chief Advocacy Officer of the Smart Energy Council.
“We know the solutions exist. What’s been missing is accessible, trusted guidance. That’s exactly what these expos deliver.”
Each event will provide a relaxed, welcoming environment where attendees can explore practical ways to reduce energy costs without jargon or sales pressure.
