A Future Made in Australia begins now

Passage of the Future Made in Australia legislation through parliament is a milestone moment for our renewables sector and our economic prosperity.

The Smart Energy Council congratulates the Albanese Government, the renewables industry, and all those who’ve helped unlock this visionary investment in clean energy.

“A Future Made in Australia is a future made with renewables and storage,” Smart Energy Council Chief Executive John Grimes said.

“Renewables are at the centre of Australia’s economic future, and this legislation is the key that will unlock the enormous potential of our smart energy industries.”

“This framework of $23 billion in support for innovation and manufacturing for the renewables and clean exports industry, forms the backbone of our net zero future.”

“Smart energy manufacturing and critical minerals value adding presents massive opportunities for all of us, and demonstrates to the world that Australia is destined to be a Renewables Superpower.”

The Smart Energy Council notes that there remains outstanding legislation before the parliament necessary to our net zero transformation, which is the Tax Incentives for Hydrogen Production and Critical Minerals Production.

We urge the parliament to swiftly pass these measures.

The Smart Energy Council has many leading smart energy companies available for comment about what A Future Made in Australia means for the sector.
