Twice for Tata: Smart Energy India Delegation Explore India’s Largest Integrated Power Company

The Smart Energy Council‘s India Delegation was provided two unique opportunities to learn from Indian energy pioneer Tata Power.

As the subcontinent’s largest integrated power company, Tata Power delivers electricity at eye-watering scale, and has done so for more than a century.

But, despite that lengthy history, Tata Power doesn’t cling to tradition when it comes to generating electricity – 37% of the company’s twelve million distribution consumers are supplied by clean energy sources.

Earlier in the delegation, attendees gained access to the Tata Power Smart Grid Lab based in Delhi, taking a deep-dive into the company’s cutting-edge manufacturing, research and development.

The lab provided delegates with the opportunity to view a showcase of Tata Power’s information and operational technology services; designed to support transmission on one of the world’s biggest grids.
