Partnership Launched with Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU)

The Smart Energy Council and India’s Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) have entered a new partnership with a focus on renewable hydrogen certification knowledge sharing.

“It’s fantastic to be at PDEU for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between our organisations,” said Smart Energy Council CEO John Grimes.

“We look forward to joining this cutting-edge institution in driving the uptake of renewable hydrogen, whether that’s in fuels, ammonia production or green metals.

“While the government can start the conversation on renewable hydrogen certification, it will be the industry that will deliver.

The Smart Energy Council’s industry-led Zero Carbon Certification Scheme began operating in 2020, a Guarantee of Origin style scheme promoting renewable hydrogen uptake and distribution.

“At PDEU we train our students to be energy ambassadors for the nation, making them employable and deployable” said PDEU Director General Dr S. Sundar Manoharan.

The Gujarat-baed instinstitution, branded the “Energy university of the future” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has extensive knowledge in the fuel sector.

Leading Smart Energy Council members Hydroverse and Powerledger were given a special mention as founding partners of the Zero Carbon Certification Scheme.
