Important changes for solar inverter sales in SA

This is a recording of the Smart Energy Council webinar held on 5 October 2022 “Important Changes for Solar Inverter Sales in SA” – brought to you by SA Power Networks.

The Government of South Australia is introducing new Dynamic Export Requirements as part of the regulatory changes for Smarter Homes, requiring all new exporting solar generation systems to be capable of remotely updating their export limits from 1 Dec 2022.

Inverters sold in SA after this date must meet these new requirements. In conjunction to this, SA Power Networks will be launching a new Flexible Exports connection offer which will provide customers the opportunity to maximise the benefits of their system.

Inverter manufacturers are currently developing, testing and certifying for this new capability.

Thank you to our host John Grimes, CEO, Smart Energy Council as well as our fantastic speakers, James Brown, Strategy Lead, DER Integration, SA Power Networks and Ian Furness, Principal Electrical Engineer, Office of the Technical Regulator, Department for Energy and Mining.
