Official Resolution to DC Isolator Issue

Excellent news – the DC isolator issue that threatened a nationwide shutdown for the solar industry has been resolved.

A technicality with the listing of solar inverters, which impacted tens of thousands of jobs nationwide, could have caused the solar industry to come to a halt on the 18th of December 2021.

Following meetings with regulators and the Smart Energy Council’s intervention into the certification of DC isolators, a pragmatic resolution has been reached.

Please find attached a release by ERAC and the Standing Committee of Officials (SCO) of the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) regarding the issues of certification of DC isolators and inverters needing to comply to the new AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 inverter standard.
